Job Overview

A law firm in Miami, FL, seeks a highly skilled attorney to join its Institutional Response Group, a premier team specializing in Title IX and civil rights matters. This role provides a dynamic opportunity to work on investigations, compliance, and policy development for educational institutions, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.

Duties

  • Conduct investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or similar civil rights and criminal laws addressing:
    • Sexual and gender-based harassment or violence
    • Protected class discrimination or harassment
    • Child or elder abuse
  • Assist institutions or governmental entities in designing trauma-informed, fair, and impartial prevention and resolution strategies.
  • Develop and implement written policies, procedures, and educational materials.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance, including Title IX, the Clery Act, and child protection frameworks.
  • Engage in client consultations and provide strategic guidance on governance, compliance, and safety-related issues.
  • Travel as necessary to fulfill client needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience conducting investigations related to civil rights, criminal laws, or Title IX cases.
  • Extensive knowledge of Title IX, the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and other related regulations.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in relevant fields.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Florida.
