Mid-level Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Reston, VA, is seeking a Mid-level Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm. The ideal candidate will have expertise in product liability and complex commercial litigation, particularly within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. The role demands strong analytical, writing, and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Job Responsibilities:

• Communicating effectively, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
• Supervising and mentoring associates.
• Collaborating with experts in various fields.
• Assisting with fact development and depositions.
• Reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Helping develop and implement case strategies.
• Producing deliverables, answering phone calls, and replying to correspondence efficiently and responsively.
• Providing timely, accurate, and high-quality work product.
• Meeting deadlines and expectations and performing required work duties.
• Fostering positive work relationships.
• Complying with all firm policies and practices.
• Engaging in physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in virtual conference calls, and attending meetings.
• Performing other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience with product liability and complex commercial litigation.
• Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and clients.
• Admitted to practice in VA.

Education:

• JD degree.
• Strong academic credentials from nationally recognized schools.
• Additional degrees such as MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology are highly desirable.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in Virginia.
