A law firm in Canton, OH is seeking an Associate Attorney to assist with a wide range of legal matters including business, tax, mergers & acquisitions, real estate, personal injury, estate planning, and litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience and be adept at conducting legal research, analyzing complex legal documents, and performing due diligence.

Duties:

  • Assist with various legal tasks across multiple practice areas, including business, tax, mergers & acquisitions, real estate, personal injury, estate planning, and litigation.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on complex legal issues and prepare detailed memorandums and briefs.
  • Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents, including contracts, and propose necessary alterations.
  • Perform discovery tasks involving electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation.
  • Conduct due diligence related to contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Draft business and legal correspondence and other necessary legal documents.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff in managing legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal environment.
  • Strong experience with advanced MS Office skills, specifically Word and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in legal research software such as Lexis, WestLaw, and Casemaker.
  • Ability to compose clear and effective business and legal correspondence.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and in good standing with the State Bar.
