Job Overview

Duties

  • Advise clients on various aspects of state and local taxation, including:

    • Gross receipts taxes
    • Property taxes
    • Income taxes

  • Represent clients in tax disputes, including administrative hearings and appeals
  • Provide strategic tax planning for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions (experience in M&A is beneficial but not required)
  • Collaborate with clients in the nonprofit sector, offering tax guidance when needed
  • Work closely with colleagues across multiple practice areas, ensuring comprehensive client service and support

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in tax law, with a focus on state and local taxation
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience with tax law research, drafting, and client consultation

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio or eligible for licensure

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in Ohio (required)
