A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 4-6 years of litigation experience to join its Insurance & Reinsurance team in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have experience advising and representing insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries in insurance coverage disputes and reinsurance matters. This position offers a collaborative, team-oriented environment where attorneys handle a wide variety of complex and challenging legal issues. Duties:

  • Represent clients in insurance coverage disputes, reinsurance matters, and complex litigation cases.
  • Advise insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries on regulatory investigations and mass tort litigation, including environmental liability, asbestos, and workers' compensation.
  • Assist with litigation involving construction defects, opioids, toxic tort claims, and other related legal matters.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare complex legal documents including motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Manage cases independently while collaborating with a team of professionals on larger matters.
  • Develop creative solutions to complex legal challenges to meet client needs and objectives.
  • Communicate with clients to provide regular updates, advice, and strategic guidance.

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of demonstrated litigation experience.
  • Strong technical skills with a deep understanding of insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes.
  • Experience with complex litigation matters, including mass torts, environmental liability, and construction defect claims.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including advocacy experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently while working proactively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Admission to the bar in Massachusetts or Connecticut in good standing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Massachusetts or Connecticut.

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective client management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in managing complex litigation cases and developing creative legal solutions.
