Attorney needed for New York City office

A law firm seeks a dedicated, experienced Attorney to represent plaintiffs in personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience managing caseloads from inception through trial, with a strong focus on New York law. The Attorney will handle all aspects of personal injury cases, including legal research, drafting legal documents, depositing, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of personal injury cases from initiation through resolution.
• Conducted legal research and drafted pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Conduct depositions and attend court hearings.
• Represent clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
• Collaborate with the team to develop effective legal strategies.
• Provide sound legal advice to clients.
• Gather information by communicating with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers.
• Negotiate suitable agreements and settle on clients’ behalf when appropriate.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience handling caseloads from inception through trial.
• 3 years of experience handling plaintiff's personal injury matters, with a focus on New York law.
• Experience with medical malpractice cases is preferred.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New York State.
