Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Of Counsel attorney to join its team in the Washington, D.C. region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law and litigation, with a focus on defending employers in employment-related claims. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile cases and advise clients on complex employment law matters, including class/collective actions and discrimination cases.

Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration on employment matters, including class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to employers on various labor and employment law issues and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop legal strategies and solutions for clients.

Requirements:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials.
  • 8+ years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for a background in employment law.
  • Active Virginia Bar admission or the ability to obtain admission quickly.
  • Strong understanding of current court and employment-related agency procedures (both state and federal).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Virginia Bar admission, or ability to obtain admission quickly.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, including litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
