A law firm seeks a dedicated and compassionate Family Law Attorney to join its team in Huntersville, North Carolina. This full-time, on-site role offers an opportunity to work on a variety of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and domestic violence matters. Duties

  • Handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, such as divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence.
  • Represent clients in family court proceedings, including hearings, mediation, and trials.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including petitions, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings.
  • Provide legal guidance and support to clients navigating emotionally challenging situations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and staff to ensure the best outcomes for clients through a team-based approach.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients’ best interests in family law disputes.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, keeping them informed on case developments.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal changes in family law and attend continuing education opportunities.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar, or candidates scheduled for the February 2025 Bar Exam.
  • Prior experience in family law practice, including court appearances and drafting legal documentation, is preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively advocate for clients.
  • Ability to provide empathetic support to clients during complex family law issues.
  • Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment and contribute to collective success.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • North Carolina State Bar License or eligibility to sit for the February 2025 Bar Exam.
