Job Overview
A well-established law firm based in San Diego, CA  is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team. The firm focuses on plaintiff's personal injury and elder abuse cases, representing clients who have suffered from nursing home abuse, car accidents, defective products, wrongful death, and more. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and impactful cases with the chance to gain trial experience.

Duties

  • Manage, litigate, and represent clients in personal injury and elder abuse cases
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and motion practice
  • Assist in the trial preparation and trial process
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Maintain detailed records and case management

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in personal injury and/or elder abuse law
  • Trial experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and negotiations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar (California)

Skills

  • Proficient in legal research and case management software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Negotiation and settlement experience
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
