Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in San Jose, CA, is seeking a dedicated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Employment Law department. The ideal candidate will have a background in litigation, particularly employment law, and will be responsible for handling various aspects of litigation cases.

Job Duties:

• Prepare responsive pleadings, engage in motion practice, and respond to discovery or administrative charges.
• Counsel clients on employment law matters and potentially other legal areas.
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including case management, discovery (propounding and responding), depositions, and trial preparation.
• Assist in developing and implementing policies related to wage laws, leave policies, and compliance matters (FMLA, ADA, wage and hour).
• Conducted compliance training for clients and handled pre-litigation disputes effectively.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar (active and in good standing).
• 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in employment law.
• Strong academic background with a proven track record of high performance.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with case management software and legal research tools.
• Familiarity with employment law issues, including wage and hour disputes and discrimination claims.
• Ability to handle a diverse caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.

Certifications:

• California State Bar admission.
