Private Fund / Debt Financing Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a Private Fund / Debt Financing Associate Attorney with 3 years of experience to join its New York City, NY office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in debt financing solutions for fund sponsors and investors, including collateralized fund obligations, rated note feeders, and NAV facilities. The role requires a driven and motivated individual eager to learn and add immediate value to a dynamic, expanding client-facing practice.

Duties:

• Work on transactions, providing debt financing solutions for fund sponsors and investors.
• Handle collateralized fund obligations, rated note feeders, and NAV facilities.
• Review private equity fund documents and draft debt financing documents, including ancillary documents.
• Manage transactions and collaborate effectively with deal teams.
• Develop and maintain relationships with private equity fund sponsors and lenders.
• Stay updated on developments in structured finance and capital markets.

Requirements:

• 3 years of relevant experience in debt financing transactions.
• Prior work with private equity fund sponsors or lenders to such sponsors.
• Knowledge of or interest in structured finance and capital markets.
• Experience in reviewing private equity fund documents and drafting debt financing documents.
• Proven ability to manage transactions and work effectively in a deal team.
• Strong motivation to learn and contribute to a dynamic practice.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in New York or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and drafting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in legal research and transaction management.
