The ideal candidate will have a focus on bodily injury and first party/bad faith cases, and prior insurance defense experience is preferred. The attorney will be proficient in handling civil cases through trial, including taking depositions, attending oral arguments and hearings, negotiating settlements, and reporting to clients.

Duties:

  • Handle bodily injury and first party/bad faith insurance defense cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Take and defend depositions, ensuring comprehensive and effective questioning.
  • Attend and present at oral arguments, hearings, and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements and mediations effectively to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Report case progress and outcomes to clients, ensuring clear and regular communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other legal professionals to develop and implement case strategies.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Arizona; additional licensure in other states is a plus.
  • 3-7 years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on bodily injury and first party/bad faith cases.
  • Proven ability to handle civil cases through trial.
