Job Title: Senior Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Explain immigration laws and offer strategic legal solutions to clients.
  • Represent both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Handle and manage a variety of immigration cases, ensuring proper case strategy and timely progress.
  • Visit and conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and submit immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and modify immigration applications and documents as necessary.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to stay updated on changes in immigration laws.
  • Meet with prospective clients to determine strategic direction and assess the necessary legal actions.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential benefits or risks in cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and drive legal cases forward.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of California.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and client interaction abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with case management software is a plus.
