Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation to clients regarding estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
• Advise clients on elder law issues, including long-term care planning, Medical Assistance eligibility, and guardianship/conservatorship proceedings.
• Collaborate with clients to create tailored estate plans based on their financial and personal goals.
• Assist with the application process for government benefits, including Medicaid and other elder care programs.
• Manage client relationships, ensuring excellent communication and personalized service.
• Represent clients in legal proceedings, as necessary, related to elder law and estate planning matters.
• Stay updated on relevant state and federal laws and regulations that impact estate planning and elder law.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in estate planning and elder law.
• A portable book of business and an established referral network are highly desirable.
• Strong communication and client management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive client situations with empathy and professionalism.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in legal document preparation.
• Proven track record in managing a caseload efficiently and meeting deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Minnesota.

Skills:

• Expertise in estate planning and elder law.

• Knowledge of Medical Assistance programs, Medicaid, and guardianship law.
