Job Overview
A law firm is seeking a Regulatory Investigations, Strategy, and Enforcement Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This attorney will focus on state and federal regulatory litigation, including spinoff consumer class litigation and administrative litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, a solid understanding of federal court practices, and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in state and federal regulatory litigation, including matters involving federal regulatory agencies and state Attorneys General.
  • Handle Administrative Procedure Act challenges and related litigation.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
  • Draft high-quality legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and court appearances.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and implement case strategies.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations, laws, and legal precedents.
  • Assist in managing and mentoring junior associates and support staff.
  • Engage in client communications and provide strategic advice regarding regulatory compliance and litigation risks.
  • Participate in business development efforts to attract new clients and expand existing relationships.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
  • 3-6 years of litigation experience, preferably in regulatory or administrative law.
  • Clerkship experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in federal courts across the country.

Certifications

  • Admittance to the Illinois State Bar.

The Chicago office is focused on insurance coverage litigation and counseling for clients in Chicago and the Midwest. The lawyers of this small office seem to truly enjoy working together.
