A law firm seeks an experienced Associate to join its dynamic Intellectual Property (IP) practice in Austin, TX. This position is ideal for a skilled attorney with 2 to 4 years of experience focusing on non-patent areas such as trademark and copyright law. Duties:

  • Manage trademark and copyright portfolios for clients, advising on brand protection strategies.
  • Handle trademark and copyright litigation and enforcement matters.
  • Develop and implement compliance strategies to align with evolving IP laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in IP-related disputes and regulatory proceedings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies on IP-related investigations.
  • Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on IP portfolio development and brand management.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in trademark and copyright law, including litigation.
  • Experience advising clients on IP protection strategies and handling legal proceedings related to trademarks and copyrights.
  • Strong understanding of the Lanham Act and the Copyright Act.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
  • A proven record of excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to handle complex cases with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the State Bar of Texas (or eligible for admission in Texas).
  • Additional bar admissions (e.g., Maryland, DC) are a plus.
