Job Overview:

The Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Attorney will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to clients while managing their expectations effectively. Strong interpersonal skills, time management, and independent judgment are essential. The role involves updating clients on case status, meeting with clients as needed, and handling various tasks to move cases forward efficiently. The attorney will also review and approve legal documents, conduct depositions, and assist with trial preparation.

 

Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service and manage client expectations
  • Meet with clients and update them on case status
  • Communicate with third parties such as insurance adjusters and opposing counsel
  • Follow the Matter Plan for each assigned case and complete tasks accurately and timely
  • Review and approve email correspondence and supporting documents
  • Review and approve pleadings and written discovery for filing
  • Conduct depositions and attend court hearings as necessary
  • Assist with trial preparation
  • Review and approve medical treatment and expenses for clients
  • Review and approve client disbursals
  • Provide guidance and timely answers to case handling paralegals' questions
  • Attend mediations on behalf of clients
  • Maximize settlements and verdict amounts
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of quantum and medical records

 

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of litigation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Louisiana law
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • College degree
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Louisiana
  • Admission to all federal and state courts in Louisiana
