Job Overview:

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Estates & Probate Attorney II with 4–6 years of legal practice. The ideal candidate will be a self-directed attorney who thrives in an environment that provides both autonomy and support. Location:

  • Boise, ID 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in estates and probate matters, including mediation and trial proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Draft legal documents such as memorandums, briefs, and client correspondence.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive client information.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Assist in business development by marketing legal services and attending networking events (4 events per quarter).
  • Conduct discovery for litigation, including both electronic and physical document review.
  • Provide due diligence on legal matters related to contracts, agreements, and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Monitor and ensure timely closure of client consultations and cases.
  • Collaborate with support staff and other attorneys to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Engage in ongoing personal and firm branding, including blog posts, social media, and professional organization participation.
  • Strive to meet performance metrics, including billing 1,500 hours annually and ensuring timely collections.
  • Handle other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the state intended to practice (or eligibility for reciprocal admission).
  • 4–6 years of experience practicing law, preferably in estates and probate.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in the state of practice (or eligibility for reciprocal admission).

Skills:

  • Mediation and trial experience.
