A law firm in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a knowledgeable Financial Services Regulatory Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in financial institution and regulatory counsel, with a focus on consumer finance regulatory law and mortgage broker counsel. Experience in traditional, non-traditional, and FinTech financial solutions is highly valued, along with a background in regulatory relations including licensing and applications.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to financial institutions and clients on regulatory matters related to consumer finance and mortgage brokering.
  • Advise on compliance with financial regulations, including those impacting traditional, non-traditional, and FinTech financial solutions.
  • Manage regulatory relations, including licensing and application processes.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support regulatory compliance and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address regulatory issues and ensure adherence to applicable laws.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Represent clients in interactions with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and industry trends to provide timely and relevant advice.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in financial institution counsel and regulatory counsel.
  • Expertise in consumer finance regulatory law and/or mortgage broker counsel.
  • Experience working with traditional, non-traditional, and FinTech financial solutions.
  • Experience in regulatory relations, including licensing and applications, is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
