Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Wichita, KS is currently seeking an accomplished attorney to join its family law litigation practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide direct representation to clients dealing with sensitive legal matters including custody, divorce, and asset distribution. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong courtroom presence, excellent client advocacy skills, and a desire to build a meaningful practice supported by a highly collaborative infrastructure.

Duties:

• Handle a diverse caseload involving legal issues such as marital dissolution, custody arrangements, child/spousal support, and property division

• Prepare persuasive pleadings, settlement proposals, legal motions, and related filings

• Participate in hearings, mediations, and trials as lead or co-counsel

• Conduct in-depth legal research to support litigation strategy and case development

• Maintain regular client communication and deliver strategic guidance throughout the legal process

• Coordinate with internal legal teams including case managers and legal assistants to ensure streamlined case execution

• Stay informed on relevant legislation, procedural rules, and judicial trends affecting family law practice

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Kansas and good standing

• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience handling family law matters in a courtroom setting

• Proficiency in managing both high-conflict and collaborative divorce proceedings

• Exceptional time management and the ability to independently manage a full caseload

• Skilled in negotiation, litigation strategy, and legal writing

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution

Certifications:

• Active Kansas Bar admission required
