Family Law and Fiduciary Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a dedicated Family Law and Fiduciary Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse caseload involving divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, estate litigation, and other probate and family law matters. This role offers an opportunity to either develop skills in family law or leverage existing experience in this specialized legal area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in divorce proceedings, child custody cases, and related family law disputes.
• Handle estate litigation matters, including will contests, trust disputes, and fiduciary litigation.
• Advocate for clients in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, adoptions, and division of marital assets.
• Draft and review legal documents such as prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, spousal and child support agreements, and restraining orders.
• Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal opinions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
• Manage caseload independently while meeting deadlines and achieving client objectives.
• Attend court hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences as necessary.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, with good standing.
• Strong desire to practice in family law and fiduciary litigation, or relevant experience in these areas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills necessary to resolve complex legal issues effectively.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience handling complex family law and fiduciary litigation cases.
• Familiarity with Massachusetts and Rhode Island family law statutes and probate procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Client-focused approach to legal practice, with strong interpersonal skills.
