A law firm seeks a diligent and motivated Associate Attorney to join its team in Latham, NY. Duties

  • Attend court hearings and legal proceedings, conducting legal research and assisting senior attorneys with case strategies.
  • Provide legal advice to clients regarding estate and trust administration, including probate laws and asset management.
  • Draft legal documents such as briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
  • Manage estate administration processes, including filing probate documents and coordinating communication with relevant parties.
  • Review legal documents, including wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, and staff to move cases toward resolution.
  • Oversee estate assets, including financial accounts, real estate, and personal property.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding estate administration.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Successful completion of the bar exam.
  • Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Ability to work with senior attorneys to serve client needs and grow the firm's client base.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
