Location:

  • Boston, MA

Duties:

  • Manage and support complex IP litigation matters, with a focus on patent and trade secrets disputes.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Work on inter partes review (IPR) petitions and handle all phases of IPR proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy, providing legal research and analysis on relevant issues.
  • Assist in the preparation for trial, including discovery, depositions, and expert witness coordination.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing timely and strategic advice.
  • Manage various aspects of litigation, from pre-litigation strategy to post-trial motions.

Requirements:

  • 3–4 years of experience in IP litigation, with a strong focus on patent and trade secrets disputes.
  • A degree in an Engineering discipline, Physics or Computer Science is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with inter partes review (IPR) petitions is highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to manage complex litigation and effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive arguments.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Client-focused, with an ability to understand and address business needs.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the relevant state.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO is preferred.

Skills:

  • Expertise in patent and trade secrets litigation.
  • Proficiency in handling IPR petitions and PTAB proceedings.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with high-tech industries such as software, digital media, and semiconductors.
  • Ability to manage litigation projects and develop strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client interaction.
