Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to join its team in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of family law and be dedicated to supporting clients through significant family transitions. This position emphasizes collaboration, high professional standards, and a supportive work environment, providing attorneys with the resources to succeed both professionally and personally.

Duties:

  • Draft legal documents, including motions, affidavits, trial briefs, and testimony.
  • Prepare for hearings and represent clients in court.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop legal strategies tailored to their needs.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel, courts, and other relevant parties.
  • Conduct legal research to apply relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Investigate case facts to support legal arguments.
  • Stay updated on changes to laws and regulations affecting family law.
  • Draft substantive legal correspondence.
  • Review and approve documents prepared by paralegals.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience practicing family law in Minnesota.
  • Active membership and good standing with the Minnesota Bar.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to manage sensitive client situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technologically proficient, with the ability to manage calendars, emails, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Flexible, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and change priorities quickly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
