Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent public agencies in various types of litigation, including administrative writs, government claims acts, public contracting litigation, and CEQA matters.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies and tactics for public agency cases.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Manage all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through trial and post-trial proceedings.
  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel to public agency clients on complex legal issues.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to ensure effective case management and resolution.
  • Stay current with developments in relevant laws and regulations affecting public agencies.
  • Demonstrate high responsiveness and communication with clients and team members.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-4 years of litigation experience, focusing on public agency matters preferred.
  • Proven experience with municipal litigation, including administrative writs, government claims acts, public contracting litigation, and CEQA.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a career in litigation, with a strong desire to continue in this field.
  • Excellent academic credentials and a solid legal research and writing track record.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the California State Bar.
