Workers' Compensation Attorney

A law firm in St. Louis, MO, is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to manage all aspects of representing clients in their workers' compensation matters. This role involves handling cases from inception through resolution, providing direction to non-attorney staff, and ensuring compliance with workers' compensation laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment and possess exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in workers' compensation matters from case opening through resolution.
• Provide direction and supervision to non-attorney staff, ensuring adherence to all workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and labor codes.
• Communicate proactively with clients to provide updates and status reports on claims.
• Interact and negotiate with insurance companies regarding claims and settlements.
• Draft case materials, correspondence, pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of all documents prepared.
• Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of current workers’ compensation law and regulations.
• Handle multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements:

• Active Bar license in Missouri is required.
• Active Bar license in Illinois and Kansas is preferred.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in workers' compensation law.
