Key Responsibilities

  • Patent Application Preparation and Prosecution: Draft and prosecute patent applications with a focus on accuracy and alignment with patent laws.
  • Prosecution Strategy Development: Assist attorneys in developing strategies to navigate patent prosecution and ensure robust patent protection.
  • Technical and Legal Research: Conduct in-depth technical and legal research on issues related to patentability, infringement, and USPTO proceedings.
  • Litigation Support: Provide technical support for patent litigation and interference proceedings, including analyzing prior art and assisting in technical aspects of case preparation.
  • Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their technology and develop strategies that protect their intellectual property.
  • Drafting and Filing Documents: Prepare, review, and file responses to USPTO Office Actions and other legal documents related to patent prosecution and litigation.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on technological advancements in relevant fields to ensure a thorough understanding of patentable innovations.
  • Portfolio Management: Assist in managing patent portfolios by tracking deadlines, drafting amendments, and ensuring compliance with USPTO regulations.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in physics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Excellent written communication skills for drafting precise and persuasive patent documents.
  • Strong analytical abilities to evaluate complex technical information and align it with legal standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team-oriented legal environment.
  • Interest in intellectual property law and a desire to develop a deep understanding of patent prosecution.
  • Should have 0-4 years of experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
