Job Overview

A nationally respected law firm is seeking a California-barred attorney to join its Healthcare Litigation practice, a dedicated subgroup within its Consumer Financial Services division. This position involves high-level legal work across a range of complex healthcare litigation issues, including ERISA benefits claims, payor-provider disputes, reimbursement actions, compliance matters, and consumer coverage litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in both state and federal court, and will bring strong analytical, writing, and communication skills to a collaborative legal environment.

Duties

  • Represent healthcare clients in litigation involving:

    • ERISA benefit claims

    • Payor-provider contract disputes

    • Out-of-network reimbursement actions

    • Consumer healthcare coverage litigation

  • Draft legal pleadings, briefs, motions, and discovery documents

  • Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy

  • Appear in state and federal court proceedings

  • Stay up to date on healthcare regulations and litigation trends

  • Collaborate with partners, clients, and support teams on active matters

Requirements

  • Active membership in the California State Bar

  • 2–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in healthcare or complex commercial disputes

  • Experience handling cases in both federal and state courts

  • Strong legal research, writing, and case management skills

  • Prior clerkship experience is preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California

  • In good standing with the California State Bar
