General Liability (Insurance Defense) Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join its General Liability practice group in White Plains, NY. This position focuses on insurance defense and involves handling complex legal matters, including litigation, legal research, discovery, and trial preparation. Location:

• White Plains, NY

Duties:

• Conduct file review and perform legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Draft substantial legal documents including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients regularly in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Some travel may be required for court appearances or client meetings.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in General Liability litigation, motor vehicle case experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional research, writing, and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Must respond promptly to client communications and case developments.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar; additional state bar admissions are a plus but not required.
