Junior Digital Health Associate Attorney

A law firm in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Junior Digital Health Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in healthcare law and regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to exclusively represent digital health companies, including startups and founder-led ventures, across all stages from pre-formation to capital markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in healthcare technology and regulatory compliance, with expertise in corporate practice of medicine, federal and state healthcare laws, reimbursement models, and fraud and abuse advising.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive legal counsel to digital health clients on regulatory compliance issues, including HIPAA, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and False Claims Act.
• Draft and negotiate agreements related to digital health technology, including vendor contracts, licensing agreements, and compliance policies.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on federal and state healthcare regulations impacting digital health companies.
• Advise on corporate governance matters, including entity formation, equity financings, and mergers & acquisitions within the digital health sector.
• Assist clients with navigating reimbursement issues with federal, commercial, and self-insured payors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address legal, regulatory, and operational challenges faced by digital health companies.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure exceptional client service and support.

Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California Bar (or ability to waive in).
• 2-4 years of experience practicing healthcare law with a focus on regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations relevant to digital health.
• Experience advising on corporate practice of medicine and multi-state regulatory considerations.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
• Superior written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues for non-legal stakeholders.
• Good business judgment and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
