Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced IP Litigation Associate to join its dynamic team within the Patent Prosecution & Litigation practice. This role provides the opportunity to manage complex patent litigation cases, engage in cutting-edge intellectual property law, and collaborate with experts across various technical fields. The position requires strong litigation skills, a passion for IP law, and the ability to lead junior associates and paralegals.

Duties:

• Lead and manage all phases of IP litigation, including case strategy, motions practice, depositions, and expert witness coordination.
• Handle PTAB proceedings, trial preparation, and related litigation tasks.
• Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and other related legal documents.
• Supervise junior associates and paralegals to ensure high-quality case management and legal support.
• Work closely with clients to manage expectations and provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters.
• Coordinate with expert witnesses and other external resources to strengthen case positions.
• Collaborate with other legal teams and departments to ensure seamless litigation processes.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in IP litigation, with a focus on patent prosecution and litigation.
• Proven experience in managing cases, drafting legal documents, and supervising junior staff.
• Strong understanding of PTAB proceedings, litigation strategy, and trial preparation.
• Ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly and concisely, both in writing and orally.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to handle multiple cases and tasks simultaneously.
• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina or eligible to be licensed promptly.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is highly preferred.

Certifications:

• Admission to the USPTO is a plus.
