Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney or Partner to join its litigation and transactional practice in Calabasas, CA. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney with 2-10 years of experience (with or without a business background) to represent clients in diverse commercial, business, and personal legal matters. The firm focuses on representing privately held companies, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals, offering a collaborative environment and the flexibility of partial remote work.

Location:

  • Calabasas, CA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court and before government agencies.
  • Take and defend expert and percipient depositions in litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
  • Lead or participate in trials, arbitrations, hearings, and mediations.
  • Advise clients on business and legal transactions, with an emphasis on real estate and privately held corporate transactions.
  • Negotiate and document transactions for business and real estate deals, as well as settlements of legal disputes.
  • Handle corporate work, including business entity formation, investment structures, and preparing operating agreements, subscription agreements, by-laws, and other corporate documents.
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to legal practice.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in litigation and/or real estate transactional work preferred.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • Familiarity with California and Federal Codes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation experience and familiarity with legal proceedings.
  • Expertise in real estate and corporate transactional matters.
  • Excellent drafting skills, with the ability to prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Strong negotiation skills in both transactional and dispute resolution matters.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
