A law firm seeks a skilled Tax Associate Attorney to join its elite tax law practice group in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 5 years of experience in tax law, specifically in analyzing tax implications related to business entity formations, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate across various practice groups and engage directly with clients.

Duties

  • Analyze tax implications of business transactions, including formations, mergers, acquisitions, and liquidations.
  • Support other practice areas within the firm regarding tax issues in real estate transactions, corporate transactions, and tax-related litigation.
  • Participate in the planning and documentation of transactions by structuring and drafting business agreements.
  • Provide tax controversy and litigation support as well as general tax advice to clients.
  • Engage directly with clients to discuss tax strategies and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to tax matters and client interactions.

Requirements

  • Must be admitted to the California Bar.
  • LL.M. in Tax or Tax Concentration from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
  • A minimum of 1-5 years of experience in tax law, with a focus on business transactions.
  • Excellent drafting skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Tax Concentration from an ABA-accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar is required.
