Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a qualified associate to join its Native American litigation team. This position provides an exciting opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex legal matters concerning tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. Duties:

  • Represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in litigation matters related to tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
  • Engage in complex commercial and construction litigation.
  • Participate in trials, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Provide legal advice in administrative law matters.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and assist with case strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate management of casework and client communication.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on Federal Indian Law or a strong interest in the area.
  • Trial, deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical, research, and writing abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

Skills:

  • Experience in litigation, particularly in complex legal matters.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal Indian Law and related legal areas.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
