Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a results-driven Associate Attorney with experience or a strong interest in consumer collection litigation. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services while maintaining integrity and achieving results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role involves advocating for clients, managing case lifecycles, and collaborating with a motivated team.

Duties:

  • Provide thorough assessments and practical advice in the consumer collection industry.
  • Advocate for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to resolve disputes and negotiate settlements.
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Document account/file activity by firm and client policies and procedures.
  • Travel to various courts in the state and manage all aspects of a case’s litigation lifecycle.
  • Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations and formulate legal opinions for review by a supervising attorney.
  • responsively communicate with clients to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Attend continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to stay updated on legal changes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Wisconsin.
  • Experience or strong desire to gain experience in consumer collection litigation preferred.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation processes and state and federal consumer protection laws.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and utilize resources to identify high-quality solutions.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive results.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Advanced understanding of the legal and regulatory framework of the consumer collection industry.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to interpret laws and regulations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
