Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Finance and Restructuring Litigation Associate to join its Native American litigation team. This is an opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex legal issues involving tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. Additionally, the role includes the chance to litigate in commercial and construction disputes. The position is open to candidates with experience or a strong interest in Federal Indian Law and litigation.

Location: Philadelphia, PA 

Duties:

  • Represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in legal matters involving tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
  • Litigate complex commercial and construction disputes.
  • Participate in trial preparation, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic case analysis.
  • Collaborate with a team on managing litigation cases and client communication.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a preference for experience in Federal Indian Law and administrative law.
  • Interest in Native American law is highly desirable.
  • Experience with trial, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of the jurisdiction where the position is based.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Experience managing litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
