A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Tax Associate Attorney or Counsel with 7+ years of experience in tax matters with federal and state elements. The ideal candidate must have significant experience in one or more of the following specialties: Partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, or tax considerations relating to real estate investments. Knowledge of state and local tax laws and experience with tax-exempt organizations are considered advantageous. Large law firm experience is preferred. The Senior Tax Associate Attorney or Counsel will be responsible for providing expert advice and counsel on tax matters, with a focus on partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, or tax considerations relating to real estate investments. A strong academic background and excellent research, writing, and communication skills are essential for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Provide expert advice and counsel on tax matters
  • Focus on partnership taxation, mergers, and acquisitions, or tax considerations relating to real estate investments
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft legal documents and memoranda
  • Communicate complex tax concepts effectively to clients and colleagues
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience working on tax matters with federal and state elements
  • Significant experience in partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, or tax considerations relating to real estate investments
  • Knowledge of state and local tax laws (preferred)
  • Experience with tax-exempt organizations (preferred)
  • Bar admission required

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Bar Admission
