Defense Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established boutique law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with a minimum of one year of litigation experience in Florida, preferably in the insurance defense field. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a variety of legal matters, including court appearances and depositions, with a focus on providing effective defense strategies in insurance-related cases.

Location:

• Coral Gables, FL

Duties:

• Manage a high volume of cases, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and draft correspondence.
• Handle court appearances, depositions, and client meetings.
• Work with senior attorneys on complex insurance defense matters.
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous time records in accordance with legal billing guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience in Florida, ideally in insurance defense.
• Law clerk or similar legal experience may be considered toward the one-year requirement.
• Ability to multitask and handle a large caseload in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and self-motivated work ethic.
• Ability to manage court appearances and take depositions.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Florida.
