Job Overview

A distinguished law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a dedicated Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in patent disputes. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, providing strategic legal counsel on complex intellectual property matters.

Duties

• Handle intellectual property litigation, including patent disputes, from inception to resolution.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research and analyze technical aspects of intellectual property cases.
• Represent clients in federal courts, before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and in other relevant proceedings.
• Collaborate with clients, inventors, and technical experts to develop case strategies.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, and trial preparations.
• Advise on intellectual property protection, enforcement, and risk management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of substantive experience in intellectual property litigation.
• Strong background in patent litigation, including proceedings before the PTAB (preferred).
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Certifications

• Admission to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) (preferred but not required).

Skills

• Strong litigation and trial preparation experience.
• Technical knowledge, particularly in electrical engineering (preferred).
• Ability to communicate complex legal and technical matters effectively.
• Team-oriented mindset with leadership potential.
