A law firm located in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Civil and Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling civil litigation and workers' compensation cases, including legal research, depositions, and appearances in Superior Court and/or Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB). The role requires a CA law license and at least 1 year of civil litigation experience. Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft detailed legal documents and briefs.
  • Represent clients in depositions and in various legal proceedings.
  • Appear in Superior Court and/or Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) as required.
  • Manage and progress cases through litigation and settlement.
  • Prepare and present case arguments and evidence in court.
  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
  • Handle discovery, including gathering and reviewing evidence and preparing witnesses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records.

Requirements:

  • CA law license required.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Experience in workers' compensation cases is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in handling depositions and court appearances.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar.
