A law firm in New York City, NY is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Managed Care Litigation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will bring 2-3 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, with a strong background in managed care or health care. This role requires exceptional academic credentials, excellent writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills. The attorney will handle multiple cases and regulatory matters, serving as a primary contact for clients and coordinating with other team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Litigation Management: Manage and litigate managed care and health care cases, ensuring effective legal representation and adherence to case timelines.
  • Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, offering legal counsel, managing client expectations, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Handle regulatory and compliance issues, ensuring all practices align with current laws and regulations.
  • Case Coordination: Coordinate with other attorneys and support staff to manage case activities and streamline legal processes.
  • Legal Documentation: Conduct thorough research, draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Court Representation: Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration sessions, and negotiations.
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and other team members.
  • Client Counseling: Provide significant case management and client counseling, including advising on legal matters and case strategies.

Requirements

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Certification: Active membership in good standing of the New York State Bar.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a law firm or relevant in-house role, with a focus on complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
  • Specialization: Experience in managed care or health care is required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong academic credentials and a proven track record in legal research and writing.
    • Excellent analytical and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple cases and handle regulatory or compliance matters.
    • Experience serving as the point person on litigation and/or counseling.
    • Significant experience in case management and client counseling is preferred.
