A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate to join its Banking, Structured Finance, and Restructuring practice in New York, NY. The position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across multiple industries on sophisticated financial transactions.

Duties:

  • Represent financial institutions and other entities in structured finance transactions, including asset-backed securities (ABS) and collateralized loan obligations (CLOs).
  • Provide legal counsel on project finance matters, loan agency transactions, and other structured finance deals.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and agreements related to financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to manage transaction workflows and deadlines effectively.
  • Conduct due diligence to identify and address legal risks in financial and restructuring transactions.
  • Stay up to date on regulatory developments impacting structured finance and banking practices.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience representing clients in structured finance, ABS, CLOs, project finance, and loan agency transactions.
  • Strong academic background and excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional communication and client service abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing client needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • New York Bar membership is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for admission without examination).

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of structured finance and banking legal frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
