Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Construction Litigation Department. This position is ideal for a candidate with 4 to 5 years of experience in construction litigation. The successful candidate will have strong written advocacy skills and a solid academic background. Experience as a judicial clerk will be viewed favorably. The role requires a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania with a keen interest in the construction sector and litigation.

Duties

  • Handle construction-related litigation matters, including contract disputes, project delays, and claims related to construction defects.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Represent clients in court, depositions, mediations, and arbitration proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex issues in construction law.
  • Provide clients with strategic advice on construction contracts, regulatory matters, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies and handle day-to-day case management.

Requirements

  • 4 to 5 years of experience in construction litigation.
  • Strong academic background with excellent written advocacy skills.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Must be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in all phases of litigation, including research, writing, and courtroom appearances.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar or eligibility to practice in Pennsylvania.
