Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm based in San Diego, CA, is currently seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join their litigation team. This is a full-time position that offers an opportunity to work on diverse general liability cases, including commercial litigation, personal injury, and more. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all stages of litigation, from pleadings through trial preparation, in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Duties:

• Manage cases from responsive pleadings to trial
• Propound and respond to discovery requests
• Conduct medical record reviews and prepare summaries
• Handle depositions for plaintiffs, witnesses, and expert witnesses
• Attend court hearings and represent clients effectively
• Draft motions and oppositions
• Prepare detailed case status reports for clients and carriers
• Engage in trial preparation and support senior attorneys

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience
• Strong litigation skills, including discovery, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation
• Must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and capable of managing a caseload independently under partner supervision
• Ability to multitask effectively in a demanding work environment
• Excellent oral advocacy and written communication skills
• Prior insurance defense experience is preferred.
• A California State Bar License required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the California State Bar

Certifications:

• Must possess a valid and active California State Bar license
