A law firm in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a Healthcare Associate Attorney to defend long-term care and medical malpractice cases. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex litigation in the healthcare industry and an interest in both medical malpractice and long-term care litigation.

Duties:

  • Defend long-term care facilities in litigation, including claims of negligence and malpractice.
  • Handle medical malpractice cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Develop legal strategies to represent healthcare providers, including nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and briefs in support of litigation efforts.
  • Manage the discovery process, including the review and analysis of medical records.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and witnesses to prepare for trials and mediations.
  • Represent clients in court, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

Requirements:

  • Experience handling long-term care cases and/or medical malpractice cases.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Interest in long-term care litigation and traditional medical malpractice cases.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A steady and consistent work history is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
  • Knowledge of healthcare and long-term care regulations.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar is required.
