Job Overview
A prestigious law firm is seeking a skilled Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join its dynamic Insurance Coverage practice group. This full-time, partnership-track position requires an attorney with at least 2-5 years of experience in insurance coverage matters, representing either policyholders or insurers. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in litigation and be comfortable working with clients and colleagues in a collaborative environment. Duties

• Handle insurance coverage disputes, providing advice and representing clients in both first- and third-party insurance matters
• Conduct detailed analysis of insurance policies and interpret coverage issues
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering timely legal advice
• Collaborate with team members and senior attorneys on large-scale cases
• Engage in pro bono work as part of the firm’s commitment to community service
• Stay updated on developments in insurance law and litigation strategies

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in insurance coverage law, with a focus on litigation
• Experience representing policyholders or insurers in coverage disputes
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with an ability to explain complex legal issues clearly
• Leadership potential with a proactive attitude toward client service
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Must be licensed in the jurisdiction where the position is located or willing to obtain licensure within one year

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in VA (or willingness to obtain licensure within one year)
