Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a mid-senior level associate with experience in finance, particularly within the areas of securitization, structured financing, securities, acquisition and leveraged financing, leveraged and operating leasing, and secured lending. This role will focus on transactions involving esoteric asset classes such as aircraft, railcars, ships, and other similar assets. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, large firm experience, and a passion for working in this specialized field.

Location: New York City, NY 

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a range of finance transactions, including securitization, structured financing, and secured lending.
  • Work on transactions involving aircraft, railcars, ships, and other esoteric asset classes.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review transaction agreements.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to structure complex transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and provide insightful analyses.
  • Assist in managing client relationships and provide strategic advice on asset-based financing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments and market trends.

Requirements:

  • Experience in finance, specifically in securitization, structured financing, and related areas.
  • Experience with transactions involving aircraft, railcars, ships, and other esoteric assets is a plus.
  • Strong academic background with a proven track record at a large law firm.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state where the office is located.

Skills:

  • Expertise in securitization, structured financing, and acquisition financing.
  • Strong understanding of asset-based financing, leasing, and secured lending.
  • Exceptional drafting, research, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal and financial transactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Knowledge of esoteric asset classes like aircraft, railcars, and ships is a plus.
