Job Overview:

A well-established immigration law firm seeks an experienced and passionate Immigration Associate Attorney to join its team. This position will support the firm’s mission to help immigrants navigate the U.S. legal system and gain legal status. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law, including experience with EOIR filings, family-based petitions, and other immigration-related processes. This is a full-time position based in Jersey City, New Jersey, with hybrid work options available.

Location:

  • Jersey City, NJ

Duties:

  • Develop and implement immigration strategies in collaboration with the legal team and under the guidance of the CEO.
  • Review and prepare immigration application packets for EOIR filings, family-based petitions, consular processing, U-Visa, SIJS, VAWA, T-Visa, waiver petitions, and RFEs.
  • Review client intakes in preparation for consults and filings.
  • Draft immigration and family pleadings, briefs, and motions.
  • Supervise and delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare for and attend virtual, telephonic immigration court hearings and USCIS interviews.
  • Ensure that all team members understand and follow the immigration strategy for each case.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, COO, Operations Manager, and legal team to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of attorney experience in immigration law, particularly VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, and SIJS.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English), with Spanish as a native language.
  • Strong growth mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to new systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator with empathy, clarity, and honesty.
  • Member of the New Jersey Bar.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace/Suite, Excel, Slack, and immigration case management systems.
  • Strong writing skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member of the New Jersey State Bar.
