Job Title: Business Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A Minneapolis-based law firm is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Attorney to join their dynamic and fast-paced litigation department. This role is essential for representing clients in a range of business-related legal disputes, offering advocacy in court and mediation settings, and providing high-quality legal counsel. The attorney will focus on fostering business development while managing complex litigation matters.

Duties:

• Represent clients in court, arbitration, mediation, and other legal proceedings.
• Present cases confidently before judges and juries.
• Conduct thorough legal research and writing.
• Manage business-related legal disputes in the litigation practice area.
• Interview witnesses, review documents, and prepare case materials.
• Advocate in motion hearings and trials.
• Maintain a high volume of billable hours, with a target of up to 1800 hours annually.
• Attend client meetings and community events to develop business opportunities.
• Grow and develop the firm's business litigation practice.
• Provide timely, professional support to designated clients.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of litigation experience, particularly in business disputes.
• Experience with motion practice, discovery disputes, and trial preparation.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to settle complex disputes.
• Confidence and persuasive abilities in the courtroom.

Education:

• A 4-year college degree is required.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota; North Dakota licensure is a plus.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in Minnesota.
• Additional licensure in North Dakota is preferred
