A law firm located in Houston, Texas, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mid-Level Tax Transactional Associate Attorney to join their esteemed Tax group. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of strong tax transactional experience and a passion for delivering high-quality work and exceptional service to clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex tax matters and contribute to a growing practice within a supportive and dynamic team.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of tax transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring.
  • Draft and review tax-related documents, including agreements, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough tax due diligence and analysis to support transaction structures and strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients and other professionals, including accountants and financial advisors, to ensure effective tax planning and compliance.
  • Advise clients on tax implications of various business transactions and strategies, including international tax considerations.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and communications with tax authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and their impact on client matters.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency and minimize risks.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong tax transactional experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of law firm experience in tax transactional matters.
  • Proven ability to handle complex tax transactions and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Demonstrated passion for delivering high-quality work and exceptional client service.

Education:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and international tax.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in tax research tools and legal research databases.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
